The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has affirmed its commitment to the upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2023, despite an interlocutory injunction filed against the Party by one of the presidential aspirants, Dr Kwabena Duffuor.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Party reassured members and Ghanaians that it was taking all necessary and legitimate steps to ensure that the primaries proceed as planned.

Dr Duffuor had filed an injunction to prevent the Party and the Electoral Commission from conducting the elections, citing errors and anomalies in the Voters Register.

The NDC, however, noted that as of April 20, 2023, it had provided the full Delegates List to all presidential candidates, in line with the Party’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the primaries.

The Party further urged members and Ghanaians to remain calm and focused on the bigger picture, which is to rescue Ghana from its current state of national collapse.

For the most part, the NDC expressed confidence that the temporary challenge would be resolved expeditiously, and the Party would be able to carry on with its primaries as scheduled.

The Party emphasized its commitment to free, fair, and transparent elections and promised to take all necessary measures to ensure that the democratic process is upheld.

All in all, the NDC remains focused on its goal of presenting a united front to Ghanaians in the upcoming general elections in December 2024 and fulfilling its mandate to bring much-needed change to the country.
